18 more days in CO
It's hard to believe that my time here is almost up! Colorado is the ultimate outdoors place. I've done white water rafting, hiking, alpine sliding, chairlift riding, fly fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, and even gambling - oh and drinking beer at the top of a mountain! I plan on trying to do more before I leave - we are going to a rockies game in a few days, I need to rent a bike and go to atleast frisco and back (20 miles - and not too much incline), I will try and hike a 14,000 ft mountain before i go (i've only done 13000). We have some good rep coming up, I'm kind of excited about it, hopefully I will be more excited once it is here. we are playing mahler 3 (first mvmt), mahler 5, mendelssohn nocturne, don juan, firebird, cappricio espagnol, and that might be it for the bigger stuff. if anyone wants to come hear us, let me know! i still have 2 comp tickets i can give people! I'm getting more and more excited about moving to boston, and getting settled in the house where i will live. still kind of scared about not knowing my teacher or anything. oh well, i know it will be good for me there. another nice thing about being here in CO, i can actually get a little more tan at a music festival for once! you get more sun up here in the mountains. usually, i don't get as much sun at other festivals. too bad i'm not always in the sun in a bathing suit though, the sleeves like to cause me to have a "farmer's tan" - we will have to fix that :) anyway, I will be back in dallas august 9th, and will probably be there until august 26th, then it's off to boston for me. btw, if anyone wants to visit boston, that would be awesome too! must go shower and warm up for rehearsal now!
